What are the hours of website operation?
The Delaware General Assembly website is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

How many legislators are there in the Delaware General Assembly?
There are 62 legislators in Delaware. The General Assembly is comprised of 21 Senators and 41 Representatives.

What is the length of terms for Senators and Representatives?
Senators are elected to 4 years terms and Representatives are elected to 2 years terms.

Are there term limits for the legislators?
No. There are currently no term limits for legislators in Delaware.

Where and when does the General Assembly meet?
The General Assembly meets in Legislative Hall in Dover. The legislature convenes on the second Tuesday of January and meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until June 30 of each year.

What is the length of a General Assembly?
A General Assembly meets for 2 years, the first year being the first session and the second year being the second session. All bills carry over from the first year to the second year. Legislation not passed by the end of the second session is not carried over to the next General Assembly.

How can I determine my district and legislator?
Please contact your election department in the county in which you reside.

E-mail addresses for those members of the General Assembly who have elected to utilize e-mail are listed on Senators and Representatives listings. If no email address is listed, the legislator has either chosen not to have e-mail or not to publish the address. Lists that contain all of the legislative email addresses are not published.

How do I get a law changed?
Please contact your Senator and Representative with your proposal and idea.

Is the Delaware Code available on-line and what is the cost?
The Delaware Code On-line is available from this site free of charge.

What legislative information is available from this site?

Bills are searchable by keyword or by Title.

Will you send me a copy of all bills by subject?
We do not currently index legislation by topic.

The Governor can be contacted from the Governors website or by phone at 1-800-292-9570.

Who maintains the General Assembly Website?
The General Assembly website is maintained by the Legislative Information System team which operates under the Office of the Controller General.

Which formats are used in publishing information on the website?
Documents are published on the General Assembly website in three formats:

What is Adobe Acrobat and how do I obtain it?
Adobe Acrobat is a cross-platform format that allows documents to be published on the Internet exactly as they would appear in print. Adobe Acrobat files are read using Acrobat Reader, which is free from Adobe.

No. Cookies are not used by the webmasters for the General Assembly.

Is there a notification system setup to keep me posted on changes to the website?
