Purpose of the Bill : The purpose of SB 254 is that the State expects educators to assume greater responsibility and demonstrate leadership in their classrooms, but the current compensation system does not reflect the work that the State values in educators. The bill establishes a committee to look at the parameters for an improved compensation system.
Committee Findings: The committee found that this bill is important in helping teachers to increase their salaries and become higher level teachers. The committee found this bill sufficient for release.
